Production of 1,3-dioxolan solvent is the oldest facility, and it will have its 60-year anniversary in 2007. The process technology involves ethylene glycol and formaldehyde condensation. The production capacity is 2,200 tons per annum. The product is now in the recession of its life cycle but some customers continue to use the product in their technologies.
